Crowther Associates are instructed to prepare alternative architectural designs for this proposed £300M 100 megawatt Power Station for Helius Energy Ltd. The plant will require up to 800,000 tonnes PA of biomass fuel (mostly timber waste). The site is located on a 20 acre site in Southampton’s Western Docks.
As part of the public consultation process Helius requested that three different architectural treatments be prepared.
The “Marine” theme is based on references taken from shipping – cruise liners and container ships. The “Wave” theme was inspired by the sea and wave forms of this coastal location. The “High Tech” theme was inspired by modern product design.
